What most people don't know or understand is that a cyclops isn't a being that was born with only one eye. Of course, to people in this realm it might look like they only have one eye. However, cyclopses we're actually born differently and they are very spiritual and metaphysical beings.  
The reason that they were born with only one eye in the physical Realm is because their other eye exist solely in the metaphysical one. A cyclops can use this metaphysical eye to view any point on the space-time Continuum that it chooses to. It can use this eye to absorb powers and energy directly into its body.
Essentially, this means that a cyclops is able to see into past, present, and future places.  Anytime, anywhere.  When doing so it could then absorb the powers, magic, and knowledge associated with the place that it chose to view.
